With a long history of Western colonial rule, interspersed with the visits of merchants and traders from the east, evolved a people of a unique blend of east and west, both in appearance and culture. Hospitality is a common denominator in the Filipino character and this is what distinguishes the Filipino. Hospitality, a trait displayed by every Filipino, makes these people legendary in Southeast Asia. The Filipinos are likewise noted as Freedom-Loving people as evidence by revolts, uprisings and people power revolutions through its history.  And most of all, the Filipinos are fund of nature and has love for their environment.
