HOMEThe
organization’s
aims and objectives are expressly provided in the Constitution and
By-Laws submitted earlier with the Big L and for ready reference, are
hereunder enumerated, to wit:
(1) To advance education and
relieve financial hardship amongst those Filipinos and Filipino
ethnicity seeking asylum and those granted refugee status; To
advance the education of the public in general about the
issues relating refugees and those seeking asylum;
(2) To develop the capacity and skills of the members of the
socially and
economically disadvantaged Filipinos and Filipino Communities in such a
way that they are better able to identify, help meet their needs and to
participate more fully in the wider society.
(3) To provide facilities for recreation or other leisure
time occupation
with the object of improving the conditions of life of those persons
who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age
infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic
circumstances.
(4) To work towards accessing the mainstream service
provisions available
to help disadvantaged Filipinos and Filipino communities and other
minority ethnic society.
(5) To
develop closer relations and racial harmony with all other
communities and gain access to a wide range of opportunities and
service providers.
(6) To
promote extensive cultural awareness and project a positive image of
the Philippine culture and tradition through active participation and
assistance in social and cultural activities among ethnic groups and
the welsh society.
(7) To
support local, national and international organizations with these
objectives by contributing and supporting volunteers’
services,
non-monetary assistance and donations such as relief goods, foods, etc.
(8) To
raise funds by way of contributions, donations, subscriptions,
legacies and other lawful means for the benefit of the Filipinos,
Filipino Communities and other BME’s in Wales.
FCW envision and
hope to play a vital role in bringing Filipinos together and in
bridging other communities in Wales.
